Baseball Game Preview: North Marion Colts vs. Lincoln Trojans

The North Marion Colts will take on the Lincoln Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Marion, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, North Marion turned things around against Trinity Catholic on Friday. They came out on top against the Celtics by a score of 5-1.

Rowan Quartararo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, Tucker Jones was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Luke Tueton, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Lowndes.

Neal Porter and Brennan Baisden did some serious damage despite the final result: Porter scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Baisden went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Cody Garber was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for North Marion, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
