Basketball Recap: Mineola Comes Up Short

Mineola lost against Malakoff back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mineola Yellowjackets might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 54-32 to the Malakoff Tigers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Yellowjackets' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Mineola's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Malakoff, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Mineola and Winona will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Malakoff will take on Grand Saline in a holiday battle at at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
