Baseball Recap: Jensen Beach Takes a Loss

Jensen Beach came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the University Christian Christians, falling 8-2.

Jensen Beach got a good showing from Blake Curatola, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs Curatola has allowed over his last three games.

On the hitting side, Jensen Beach saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Polhemus, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Polhemus a new career-high.

Jensen Beach has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. University Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Jensen Beach will challenge True North Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 27th. True North Classical Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Jensen Beach surely won't give up without a fight. As for University Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-3 victory against Flagler Palm Coast on the 24th.
