Basketball Recap: Jamiah Herring-Green and Zayniyah Jackson Secure Win for Hazelwood West

It was a proper cat-fight when Hazelwood West challenged University City on Monday. The Hazelwood West Wildcats managed a 58-54 victory over the University City Lions. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Leading Hazelwood West to victory were Zayniyah Jackson and Jamiah Herring-Green. Jackson went 7 for 14 en route to 24 points, while Herring-Green dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. Herring-Green's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Ava Wilson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Hazelwood West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Hazelwood West's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for University City, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
