Softball Game Preview: San Fernando Tigers vs. Poly Parrots

The San Fernando Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Poly Parrots at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Poly took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on San Fernando, who comes in off a win.

San Fernando was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Arleta. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Poly came up short against Kennedy on Friday and fell 12-7. The Parrots have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

NATALIA REYES and JAZLYN GALLARDO stepped up to the plate in a big way. REYES went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while GALLARDO went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that REYES has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was TAYLA COLLINS, who went 3-for-5 with one run.

San Fernando's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Poly, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

San Fernando took their win against Poly in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 10-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
