Softball Game Preview: Greenbrier Panthers vs. Bauxite Miners

The Greenbrier Panthers will challenge the Bauxite Miners at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenbrier has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Tuesday. Greenbrier lost 15-2 to Benton. Greenbrier has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greenbrier saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Pudinas, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bauxite). They had just enough and edged out Heber Springs 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

MJ Bermingham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma King, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two).

Greenbrier's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bauxite, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Bauxite's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greenbrier hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320.
