Recap: Ocala Christian Crusaders vs. Lakeside Christian Lions
On Friday, The Ocala Christian Crusaders faced the Lakeside Christian Lions in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ocala Christian blew past Lakeside Christian, posting a 60-16 victory at home. The win was nothing new for Ocala Christian as they're now sitting on five straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ocala Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Troy Wade, who rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Wade really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run. Joshua Davis was another key contributor, gaining 134 total yards and two touchdowns.
Ocala Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Gainesville Christian Community and 1-9 St. John Lutheran (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 28.6% over those games). As for Lakeside Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Ocala Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lakeside Christian also has no future games currently scheduled.
