Softball Game Preview: Keystone Heights Indians vs. Bradford Tornadoes

The Keystone Heights Indians will venture away from home to square off against the Bradford Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Keystone Heights came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-0 to Eustis. The Indians have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Bradford waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Bobcats. That's two games straight that the Tornadoes have won by just one run.

Tayrn Flowers was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Addyson Hinds was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Bradford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.

Keystone Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Bradford, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Bradford's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Keystone Heights has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Bradford, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.6 strikeouts. Will Keystone Heights keep running through batters, or will the Tornadoes buck the trend?

Keystone Heights took their win against Bradford in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
