Basketball Game Preview: Kim/Branson Mustangs vs. Holly Wildcats

Kim/Branson is 0-5 against Holly since February of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Kim/Branson Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Holly Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Kim/Branson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.

On Saturday, everything came up roses for Kim/Branson against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] as the team secured an 85-51 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won eight in a row.

Kim/Branson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trotter Watkins, who went 8-for-13 en route to 20 points along with six assists and six steals. Those six assists gave Watkins a new career-high. Cameron Rosas was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 11 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Holly entered their contest against Syracuse on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The game between Holly and Syracuse didn't end well, with Holly falling 65-48.

Kim/Branson's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.8 points. As for Holly, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Kim/Branson came up short against Holly when the teams last played back in February of 2021, falling 62-54. Can Kim/Branson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
