League recap: North Iowa wins, gets boost in standings

North Iowa was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in 8-Man District 2 (8 Man). Earlier in the week, the Bison defeated West Bend-Mallard 21-14.

Newell-Fonda extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Laurens-Marathon, 35-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Mustangs.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Newell-Fonda takes on Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger-Terril. Brian Wilken's team is in first place, while the Lakeland Raiders are in sixth place.

Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger-Terril took down Cal-DOWS 59-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
