Baseball Game Preview: Foster Falcons vs. Alief Elsik Rams

The Foster Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Alief Elsik Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Foster's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.

Foster is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Alief Elsik get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Falcons with their most commanding win of the season.

Foster got a great performance from Paxton Dagley as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Dagley also allowed no hits, which is notable because Foster is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 7-9-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Luke Kulcak was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Landry Heath, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Foster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alief Elsik only posted an OBP of .111.

Foster is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. Alief Elsik's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
