Basketball Game Preview: Benjamin Franklin Electrons vs. Northeast Vikings

The Benjamin Franklin Electrons will head out to square off against the Northeast Vikings at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Benjamin Franklin escaped with a win against Paul Robeson by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Electrons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while the Huskies are ranked 220th).

Meanwhile, Northeast entered their tilt with Science Leadership Academy at Beeber on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 64-52.

Benjamin Franklin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Northeast, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Benjamin Franklin came up short against Northeast in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, falling 67-63. Thankfully for Benjamin Franklin, Jahsir Mason (who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 27 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
