Basketball Game Preview: Alvarado Indians vs. Godley Wildcats

Alvarado hasn't had much luck against Godley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Alvarado Indians will venture away from home to take on the Godley Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Alvarado lost to Hillsboro on the road by a 55-40 margin.

Alvarado might have lost, but man, Joslyn Jarmon was a machine: she went 12 for 24 on her way to 28 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Jarmon's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makynna Baldwin, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Godley challenged Glen Rose on Tuesday. Godley came up short against Glen Rose, falling 58-36. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Tigers are ranked 15th).

Alvarado now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Godley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-3.

Alvarado suffered a grim 48-28 defeat to Godley in their previous meeting back in January. Can Alvarado avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
