Recap: Cocoa Tigers vs. Viera Hawks
The Cocoa Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 66-46 defeat at the hands of Viera. While losing is never fun, Cocoa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 454th, while Viera is ranked 173rd).
When it comes to explaining why Cocoa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kamari Haynes. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Travon Graves, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Cocoa has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Viera, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Cocoa and Titusville will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Viera, they will be playing at home against Colonial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
