Basketball Recap: Rock Port Piles Up the Points Against St. Joseph Christian

Rock Port had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the St. Joseph Christian Lions 68-32. The Blue Jays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 28 points or more this season.

Rock Port was led to victory by Jack Meyerkorth and Reid Ellis. Meyerkorth went 10 of 19 on his way to 26 points and four steals, while Ellis dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Meyerkorth is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Ellis, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Rock Port was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Rock Port has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for St. Joseph Christian, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-7.

Rock Port will face off against West Nodaway at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday. As for St. Joseph Christian, they will challenge Stanberry at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
