Basketball Game Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Hilltop Lancers

Olympian is 6-0 against Hilltop since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Olympian Eagles will square off against the Hilltop Lancers at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Wednesday, Olympian lost to St. Joseph Academy at home by a 51-37 margin.

Olympian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alyssa Lewis, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds, and Rochelle Burns, who had eight points and nine rebounds. Those eight points gave Burns a new career-high. Alyssa Agpaoa was another key player, putting up four points.

Hilltop has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They came up short against Crawford on Wednesday, falling 51-31.

Olympian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Hilltop, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-5.

Everything came up roses for Olympian against Hilltop in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 67-19 win. Will Olympian repeat their success, or does Hilltop have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
