Baseball Recap: Mcloud's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

McLoud had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Seminole Chieftains on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Redskins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Jason Key, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Seminole off the board. McLoud is 2-1 when Key allows two or fewer hits, but 2-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, McLoud's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

McLoud's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 4-11. As for Seminole, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McLoud beat the Chieftains by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday.
