Preview: Linn County Mustangs vs. Meadville Eagles
Linn County is 1-9 against Meadville since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Linn County Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Meadville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Linn County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 431st, while Meadville is ranked 211th).
Linn County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 65-25 loss at the hands of Brashear.
Meanwhile, Meadville beat Brashear 65-53 on Friday. The win was just what Meadville needed coming off of a 73-53 defeat in their prior match.
Meadville can attribute much of their success to Gauge Shiflett, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds, and Reece Meyers, who scored 13 points along with 8 assists and 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Dennis, who scored 13 points.
Higbee's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Linn County's defeat dropped theirs to 0-2.
Linn County came up short against Meadville in their previous matchup back in January, falling 69-56. Can Linn County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
