Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Dallas' Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Dallas had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Berwick on Tuesday. The Mountaineers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 8-0 win. The Mountaineers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Peyton Vanvalkenburg tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jude Nocito was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Dylan Geskey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Dallas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Dallas is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Berwick, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
