Fort Frye took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Warren, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cadets won by a set and slipped past the Warriors 3-2. The game was the first time the Cadets have beaten the Warriors on their court since September 10, 2020.

Fort Frye had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-17, 15-5.

Despite the loss, Warren saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Remi Elzey had ten digs and two assists.

Fort Frye has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Warren, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fort Frye will challenge rival Marietta at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Warren is set to square off against their familiar foe Point Pleasant at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
