Softball Game Preview: Westhill Vikings vs. Foran Lions

Westhill is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Foran is on a three-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Vikings will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Westhill is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Stratford on Thursday, falling 14-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, Foran hadn't done well against Law recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions blew past the Lawmen 11-2.

Abigail Corris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Foran let Norah Bove and Olivia Gregory run wild. Bove scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Gregory scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ariella Diorio, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
