Basketball Game Recap: Brindlee Mountain Lions vs. Asbury Rams

Asbury came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Brindlee Mountain, but Zoey Persle wouldn't allow it. The Brindlee Mountain Lions snuck past the Asbury Rams with a 48-42 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Persle, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 23 points and six rebounds. Those 23 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Murray, who posted eight points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Brindlee Mountain's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Asbury, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Brindlee Mountain will head out to take on Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Asbury, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Whitesburg Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. Whitesburg Christian Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Asbury surely won't give up without a fight.
