Football Game Preview: West Wilkes Blackhawks vs. Starmount Rams

The West Wilkes Blackhawks will challenge the Starmount Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (West Wilkes 8.5, Starmount 9.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

On Friday, West Wilkes came up short against Alleghany and fell 17-10. The defeat continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Starmount had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 7-0 shutout.

West Wilkes' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Starmount, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

West Wilkes skirted past Starmount 10-7 in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Do the Blackhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
