Baseball Recap: Jordan Beetdiggers vs. Brighton Bengals
Jordan lost a close one when they played last Thursday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They lost 9-2 to the Brighton Bengals. Jordan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Brighton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.
BOSTON WILLIAMS was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Even though they lost, Jordan didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brighton only tossed six.
On Brighton's side, Miles Layton tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.
On the hitting side, Brighton got a big performance out of Jack Saba, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a double. Cooper Johnson was another key contributor, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.
Jordan's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Brighton, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
While Jordan had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
