Baseball Recap: Harding Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Harding had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Humboldt Hawks on Monday as they made off with a 13-7 victory. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Harding let Hue Yang and Mikey Xiong run wild. Yang went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs, while Xiong got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Yang is becoming a predictor of Harding's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). Alex Oxley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Harding always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .652. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Harding's victory bumped their record up to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Harding will head out to challenge St. Paul Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Humboldt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
