Baseball Recap: McKay Takes a Loss

McKay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 13-3 to the Central Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-0 on Wednesday.

McKay saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Martinez Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that Martinez Hernandez has scored this season.

McKay's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. McKay will challenge rival Corvallis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Central is set to take on their familiar foe West Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.3, the Bulldogs 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
