Basketball Recap: Clewiston Triumphs

Clewiston's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Glades Central Raiders out 37-34. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-22 back in December of 2024.

Clewiston had a senior duo take command as Milan Holmes dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals and Tyra Fields posted six points in addition to ten steals and seven boards. Holmes is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Abria Askew, who had seven points.

Clewiston's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Glades Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Clewiston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-7 win against Glades Day on the 14th. As for Glades Central, they will face off against Royal Palm Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
