Basketball Recap: Greeley County Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, Greeley County rose to the challenge on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the LaCrosse Leopards, sneaking past 51-49. The victory was nothing new for the Jackrabbits as they're now sitting on four straight.

Leading Greeley County to victory were Lincoln Shafer and Braxon Mangan. Shafer went 7-for-13 on his way to 16 points and four steals, while Mangan shot 70% from the field to rack up 18 points. Shafer's big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Hayden Myers, who posted eight points.

Greeley County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. As for LaCrosse, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

Greeley County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-50 loss against Central Plains on the 8th. LaCrosse does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
