            Football Recap: Ripley Tigers vs. New Albany Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            Ripley lost against New Albany back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. The Tigers were dealt  a  51-14 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 50th).
  Braden Shettles was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 103 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 285 yards and three  TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes for New Albany.  Kylen Knox was in the mix  too, providing the Bulldogs with two scores.
This is the second loss in a row for Ripley and  nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for New Albany, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record  this season.
 Ripley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  34-0  win against Byhalia on the 17th. As for New Albany, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  42-0  victory against South Pontotoc on the 17th.
