Basketball Recap: Swartz Creek's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Swartz Creek lost to Kearsley back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Swartz Creek Dragons managed a 51-45 win over the Kearsley Hornets. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Dragons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Kearsley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Molly Gaudard posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Johnson, who scored 17 points.

Swartz Creek's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Kearsley, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Swartz Creek will challenge Linden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kearsley, they will square off against Fenton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fenton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Kearsley surely won't give up without a fight.
