Yreka dropped down to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They and the Central Valley Falcons were almost perfectly matched up, but the Miners suffered  an  8-7 defeat. Despite 157 more yards than the Falcons, the Miners couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
 When it comes to explaining why Yreka lost, don't look at  Gadhafi Sanders. Despite the final result, he rushed for 109 yards on only 14 carries, and also caught one  touchdown.  Eugene Super helped out on the ground, rushing for 100 yards.
As for Central Valley, their  victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6. The  win was a breath of fresh air for they as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
 Central Valley was led to victory by  Aj Johnson and  Drason Recio.  Johnson rushed for 126 yards and one  score, while  Recio picked up 62 receiving yards. Johnson's rushing production has been exceptional  recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 126  rushing yards.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Yreka is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Lassen  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Central Valley will  square off against  rival Anderson  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday.
