Volleyball Game Preview: St. Laurence Vikings vs. St. Rita Mustangs

The St. Laurence Vikings will head out to take on the St. Rita Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, St. Laurence came up short against Marmion and fell 2-0. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While St. Laurence was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20.

Meanwhile, St. Rita didn't have quite enough to beat Saint Ignatius College Prep on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Mustangs have struggled against the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

St. Rita started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-19, 25-22.

St. Laurence's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for St. Rita, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

St. Laurence came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Rita when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
