Basketball Recap: Gehlen Catholic Comes Up Short

Gehlen Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 61-32 loss at the hands of the George-Little Rock Mustangs. The Jays were probably out for revenge after losing 62-26 to them when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gehlen Catholic's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-7. As for George-Little Rock, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Gehlen Catholic will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Gehlen Catholic is facing Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union at the right time seeing as Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union is stuck on a six-game losing streak. George-Little Rock will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Boyden-Hull at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
