Volleyball Recap: Oakland Mills Takes a Loss

Oakland Mills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Long Reach Lightning, falling 3-0. The Scorpions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lightning from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Oakland Mills took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 28-26.

Oakland Mills' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Long Reach, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakland Mills will face off against Chesapeake at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Long Reach, they will challenge Severna Park at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
