Baseball Recap: Luverne Comes Up Short

If Luverne was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Pipestone on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell just short of the Windom Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Cardinals have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Luverne's defeat dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Windom, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Luverne will take on Redwood Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Windom, they will challenge Montevideo at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Thunderhawks' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
