Baseball Recap: Cannelton Bulldogs vs. Columbus Christian Crusaders
Cannelton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They fell victim to a rough 21-7 loss at the hands of the Columbus Christian Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Cannelton of the 11-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
For Columbus Christian's part, Cam Pritchard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Pritchard was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Payeton Walden was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, six RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Josh Conrad, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
