Basketball Recap: Merrimack Comes Up Short

Merrimack lost against Bedford back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Merrimack Tomahawks took a blow against the Bedford Bulldogs, falling 94-64. While losing is never fun, the Tomahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Bulldogs are ranked tenth).

Merrimack has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Bedford, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

Merrimack will square off against Nashua South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nashua South knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Merrimack likes a good challenge. As for Bedford, they will head out to challenge Windham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bedford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
