The Eldorado Golden Eagles will take on the Sandia Matadors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Eldorado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Eldorado is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: La Cueva, who was ranked first at the time (Eldorado was ranked seventh). The Golden Eagles lost 11-1 to the Bears on Saturday. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Eldorado saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sullivan Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sandia waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Monarchs 13-11. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Sandia pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Eldorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Eldorado was able to grind out a solid win over Sandia when the teams last played back in March, winning 5-0. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Matadors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
