Volleyball Preview: Union County Panthers vs. Sonoraville Phoenix

Union County is 0-5 against Sonoraville since August of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Union County's win against Fannin County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers won by a set and slipped past the Rebels 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Union County got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 22-25, 17-15.

Union County found their leader in sophomore Samantha Combs, who had five digs and four aces.

Meanwhile, Sonoraville posted their closest victory since September 20th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Gordon Lee 2-1.

Sonoraville's victory bumped their record up to 28-16. As for Union County, their win bumped their record up to 24-13.
