Volleyball Game Preview: San Marcos Knights vs. Escondido Cougars

The San Marcos Knights will head out to square off against the Escondido Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, San Marcos didn't have quite enough to beat Pacific Ridge and fell 3-2.

San Marcos took Pacific Ridge into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 19-25, 16-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Escondido was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Mission Hills, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-17.

San Marcos' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-11. As for Escondido, their loss dropped their record down to 9-19.

San Marcos took their victory against Escondido in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
