Soccer Game Preview: Falls Church vs. Annandale

The Falls Church Jaguars will head out to take on the Annandale Atoms at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Falls Church comes in on six and Annandale on four.

Annandale better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Falls Church's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Falls Church really gets things going. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Edison. Four seems to be a good number for Falls Church as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Annandale). They won by a goal and slipped past Mount Vernon 6-5. Given Annandale's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Mount Vernon are ranked 226th) , the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Falls Church pushed their record up to 7-6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Annandale, their win bumped their record up to 8-3-1.
