Basketball Recap: Lockhart Comes Up Short

Lockhart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 69-17 defeat at the hands of the King Mustangs. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

King's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gianna Blanco led the charge by going 6 of 9from beyond the arc en route to 30 points. Blanco is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kamila Hernandez, who posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and seven steals.

Lockhart's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for King, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.

Lockhart will square off against Lehman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lockhart is facing Lehman at the right time seeing as Lehman is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for King, they will take on Carroll at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. King will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Carroll will have lost three straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
