Basketball Game Preview: Timpanogos Timberwolves vs. Provo Bulldogs

The Timpanogos Timberwolves will face off against the Provo Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Timpanogos is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Layton Christian Academy, who was ranked fourth at the time (Timpanogos was ranked 15th). Timpanogos received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 78-61 to Layton Christian Academy. The Timberwolves haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Timpanogos got top-tier performance from Jaxen Mccuistion, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 19 points. The game was Mccuistion's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Cooper Harris was another key player, going 6 for 14 en route to 13 points.

Meanwhile, Provo earned a 68-57 win over Mountain View on Tuesday.

Timpanogos better keep an eye on Makai Allen. He was instrumental in Provo's win, going 6 of 12 on his way to 18 points along with six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Lucas Castagnetto, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Provo's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-7. As for Timpanogos, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.

Timpanogos didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Provo in their previous matchup on January 7th, but they still walked away with an 89-84 win. Will Timpanogos repeat their success, or does Provo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
