While Grosse Pointe South's victory against University Liggett wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Knights 8-7. The win was nothing new for the Blue Devils as they're now sitting on four straight.

Alex Foote looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Grosse Pointe South saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Ogden (Lucas), who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Ogden (Lucas) has posted since back in April.

Grosse Pointe South's victory bumped their record up to 29-5. As for University Liggett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grosse Pointe South will welcome Brother Rice at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for University Liggett, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Cass Tech at 4:30 p.m. The Technicians' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
