Softball Recap: Atlantic City Vikings vs. Pleasantville Greyhounds
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oakcrest, Atlantic City was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Pleasantville Greyhounds get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The game marked the Vikings' most dominant win of the season so far.
Kayla Barrie and Nelly Sosa made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Barrie struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Sosa struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Barrie scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Sosa went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that Sosa hit this season.
