Football Game Preview: Tempe Buffaloes vs. Greenway Demons

Tempe is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will face off against the Greenway Demons at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Tempe ended up a good deal behind Desert Sunrise and lost 21-7. The game marked the Buffaloes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Tempe had strong showings from Nehemiah 'Nemo' Calvin, who picked up 114 receiving yards and one score, and Adrian Hackett, who rushed for 55 yards. Calvin was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 50 yards.

Meanwhile, Greenway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 50-27 to Mesquite. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Greenway's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Tempe, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 3-2.

Tempe and Greenway were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in October of 2019, but Tempe came up empty-handed after a 13-12 loss. Can the Buffaloes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
