Preview: Hollister vs. Mt. Vernon
Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Hollister should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will challenge Mt. Vernon on the road at 7:00 PM.
Hollister didn't have too many spare points in their game with Logan-Rogersville last Friday, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory. Hollister found Hollister's leader in underclassman sophomore Kelby Gard, who rushed for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns. In fact, with 12 tackles Narvaez was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Mt. Vernon might be getting used to good results now that the team has four wins in a row. They got past Springfield Catholic with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 36-30.
Their wins bumped Mt. Vernon to 7-1 and Hollister to 4-4. Mt. Vernon's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Hollister defensive front that amassed four sacks against Logan-Rogersville, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
