Baseball Recap: Parma Comes Up Short

Parma lost against Homedale two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers came up short against the Trojans, falling 20-2.

Kaden Cole and Samuel Hultman did some serious damage despite the final result: Cole went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Hultman went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Cole has become a key player for Parma: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 5-11 otherwise.

Parma has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Homedale, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parma will welcome New Plymouth at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pilgrims have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season. As for Homedale, they will face off against Fruitland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Grizzlies have now posted at least ten runs in their last nine matches.
