Basketball Recap: Mariner Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mariner can now relate to. They received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 43-29 to the Fort Myers Green Wave. The Tritons just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 losses in a row.

Fort Myers' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Juliya Smith led the charge by putting up four points in addition to 12 boards and seven blocks. Smith is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Skye Douglas, who posted five points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.

Mariner's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Fort Myers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-15.

As of now, neither Mariner nor Fort Myers have any future games scheduled.
