Volleyball Game Preview: Lincoln-Way Central Knights vs. Andrew Thunderbolts

The Lincoln-Way Central Knights will take on the Andrew Thunderbolts at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Thursday, Lincoln-Way Central came up short against Homewood-Flossmoor and fell 2-0.

Lincoln-Way Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Andrew sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Stagg on Tuesday.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Andrew got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 23-25, 25-18.

Andrew's victory bumped their record up to 13-19. As for Lincoln-Way Central, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-12.

Lincoln-Way Central was able to grind out a solid win over Andrew in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Thunderbolts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
